Smartphone – Gadget or Mobile Office for Translators?

MC900439835What’s this course about?

Everybody seems to use a smartphone nowadays. However, little is known about what a smartphone can do for freelance translators. In this webinar, we will use real-life scenarios freelance translators face and explain and discuss how various apps can be used to turn a smartphone into a mobile office that will provide its user with a certain amount of freedom. Have you ever been sitting in a café and one of your clients sends you some documents, requesting a quote within the next 30 minutes? Do you have to change a few words in a document or check and accept a few edits proposed by a reviewer? These days, all this and a lot more is possible. In this webinar, I will show you various apps for Android and iPhone that might make your life a lot easier.

This webinar will also be held in German on January, 22nd 2013 – more information here

About the presenter:

Siegfried Armbruster

After having worked in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany and Scotland as an MD, I turned fulltime freelance translator/interpreter 15 years ago. In 2009/2010, I got involved in implementing an ISO 9001, EN 15038 and ISO 13485 compliant QA/QM system for a US LSP. In 2011, I started my own agency, GxP Language Services, focused on Pharma/MedTech and Medical translations; the main focus is on providing quality translations to customers. To achieve this, a team based approach is employed, involving all parties (customers, translators, reviewers, in-country medical experts and in-house QA staff).
