WEBINAR FAQ
Alexandria webinars: overview
There are 2 types of webinars:
- webinars for translators (see “Webinars for Translation providers”)
- webinars for language services clients (see “Webinars for Translation Buyers”)
How can I register for a webinar?
Each webinar has its own page here on the Alexandria website. You will find the “link to register”. on this page. This will take you to the registration form on Instant Presenter, the platform that hosts Alexandria webinars. Fill in the form making sure you choose a password you can easily remember – the password is asked as an extra security measure; you will not be able to access the webinar if you do not enter this password. Please note that it is not possible to “pre-register” and pay later – the only option during registration is to pay the webinar fee at that time.
What payment methods are available?
Once you’ve filled in the registration form, please click the “Check out with Paypal” button. This does not mean you need a Paypal account: two options will be offered, either paying via Paypal if you have an account there (or create one), or “Pay without opening a Paypal account”. In this case, Paypal will simply act as a secure transaction processor – you’ll be able to pay via credit card (Visa, CB, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express) or other payment methods supported by Paypal, again without the need to create an account there if you do not wish to do so. Once your payment is confirmed, you will receive an automatic e-mail confirming your registration. After registering, you will also receive several reminders indicating the date and time of your webinar and a link to access the webinar.
In which currencies can I pay?
At the present time, USD is the only currency available.
Who sets the price of webinars?
The presenters decide how much they want to charge for their webinars.
I registered to a webinar but I can’t make it
In this case, the Alexandria cancellation policy for webinars applies. Most webinars will be available as replays for one week (7 days) after they have been held. These replays will be accessible only to paid registrants for the actual webinar. Any requests for a refund emailed to the Alexandria team up to 30 minutes before the actual webinar starts will be granted in full. Also, there is a good chance the same webinar will be organized again at a later date. Make sure to subscribe to Alexandria updates to receive notifications by e-mail.
What happens if a webinar has to be cancelled?
Should the presenter or the Alexandria team decide to cancel a scheduled webinar, every effort will be made to reschedule it. If this is not possible, all attendees will be refunded 100% of their registration fee.
How can I access the platform?
Once you’ve registered to attend the webinar, you will receive regular automatic reminders with the date and time of the event and the link to access the virtual classroom.
